Wills & Estate Planning – FAQs

A will ensures that your wishes are followed after your death. Without one, the law decides how your estate is divided, which may not reflect your intentions. A properly drafted will gives you control, protects your loved ones, and provides clarity at a difficult time.

If you pass away without a will (intestate), your estate will be distributed according to strict legal rules. This can lead to delays, disputes, or outcomes you would not have chosen, such as partners or family members receiving less than you intended.

We recommend reviewing your will every three to five years, or whenever there is a significant life change such as marriage, divorce, a new child, or major financial changes. Regular updates ensure that your will always reflects your circumstances.

Yes. One of the most important functions of a will is the ability to appoint guardians for your children. This gives you peace of mind knowing who will take responsibility if the unexpected happens.

Estate planning is more than writing a will. It involves structuring your assets,  property, savings, investments and more,  in the most effective way to protect them and pass them on to your chosen beneficiaries. It can also include setting up trusts, appointing powers of attorney, and considering inheritance tax planning.

Planning today protects your loved ones tomorrow.
