Family First Lawyers works closely with a trusted network of professional partners, including solicitors' firms, direct access barristers, women's charities, financial planning firms, and therapeutic services providers, where we believe this may benefit a client's circumstances.

In consideration of these referrals, some of our partners contribute to our Access to Justice Fund, helping us support wider access to legal education and justice within the community. In turn, we use our Access to Justice scheme to support their missions too, creating a partnership that benefits everyone involved.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it cost extra to be referred to a partner?

No. We do not charge clients for making an introduction. Any fees are between you and the partner organisation, and will be set out clearly by them before you engage their services.

Can I choose my own solicitor, barrister, or adviser instead of one you recommend?

Yes. You are always free to instruct a professional of your own choosing. Our referrals are offered to help, not to limit your options.

Are your partners regulated?

Our legal partners are independent, SRA-regulated firms and regulated barristers. Financial planning partners are independently regulated by the FCA. Where we work with charities or community organisations, these are established, reputable providers within their field.

How do you decide who to work with?

We only partner with organisations we trust, based on their reputation, regulatory standing, and shared commitment to supporting families with care and integrity.

Will I be charged for an initial discussion with a partner?

No. The initial discussion with any partner we introduce you to is always free of charge.

Should you choose to proceed with a paid service, some of our partners contribute to our Access to Justice Fund in consideration of the introduction. These contributions support our academy programme and wider initiatives aimed at improving access to legal education and justice within the community, and do not influence whether a referral is made or which partner we introduce you to.

COMPLAINTS AND CONCERNS

If you have a complaint about the advice or service provided by a partner we have referred you to, this must be raised directly with that service provider in the first instance, in line with their own complaints procedure. As an independent organisation, they are responsible for handling and resolving concerns about their own advice and services.

Where the complaint relates to a solicitor or barrister and cannot be resolved directly, you may be entitled to refer the matter to the Legal Ombudsman, who handle complaints about legal services in England and Wales.
